Biography

Baron Wolt is an expert in IT and SCADA systems technology and cybersecurity in business, government, and military applications. He is well known for his skills in assisting boards of directors, C-suite executives, and government officials, in assuring business continuity, network security, and in minimizing disruption on software systems, on automated systems, and on Internet of Things (IOT) systems. His deep experience in both business and government, combined with his ability to communicate equally well with senior business executives and with the most-experienced technology experts, makes him an invaluable resource. He has special expertise in advising senior leaders on how to identify the correct choice, and the most effective integration of, technology and techniques that are best-suited to the specifc circumstances and needs of their individual organizations.

His background in IT technology is almost unique. He was chosen to run and optimize a highly- sensitive, classified network for the Air Force. In the private sector, he served in the Global Operations Group, and as IT Operations Manager and Wide-Area-Network (WAN) Manager, for one of the largest film studios and production companies in the U.S. He was chosen by a mutual decision of major software company, and a well-known Internet access provider, to serve as IT Director for their joint-venture entity. He handled the transition of the IT systems of a major energy company from one platform to another while also installing a uniquely-tailored antivirus system. And he was recruited by a major Las Vegas casino and resort operator, as well as by the largest software company in the U.S., to design disaster recovery systems for both companies. He founded his own veteran-owned IT services company, responding to demand from business leaders and in-house IT professionals for his uniquely efficient and effective approaches.

Baron’s skills include a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) environments. His approach of providing comprehensive solutions to assure the smooth operation and security of critical infrastructure, includes network design and optimization, real-time monitoring, proactive maintenance, data analytics, and cybersecurity measures tailored specifically for SCADA systems, allowing uninterrupted control over essential processes. Managed security services for IT systems include vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, executive and staff training, threat monitoring and detection, incident response, disaster recovery—both planning and as part of crisis response—and compliance management.

He served eight years as a Marine, including in Desert Storm and Operation Restore Hope—Mogadishu, Somalia, as Head Corpsman with 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, Charlie Company (the legendary “Suicide Charley” company), earning the Combat Action Ribbon (CAR).
